Bentall Residential

Bentall Residential acquires and rehabilitates affordable and market-rate multi-family housing throughout the western United States. Our mission is to preserve, create and enhance the housing stock which serves very-low to moderate-income households.

Bentall Residential is headquartered in Irvine, California, under the direction of Kenneth J. Reiner, its President. From 2000 to 2004, Ken and his team have acquired and rehabilitated approximately 2,500 affordable, multi-family housing units in California. The team has established strong relationships with the US Department of Housing & Urban Development and the State of California Housing Finance Agency, and has become widely recognized as a leader in the affordable housing industry.

Acquisition Criteria

PROPERTY TYPE:


1) Affordable Housing
Properties with:
Low-to moderate-income tenants
Project-based Section 8, Vouchers or Income restricted units
HUD, FHA-Insured Properties
State financed properties
Existing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties

2) Mixed Income
Properties with an affordability housing component (80% market rate/20% affordable) or HUD Section 8 on a percentage of the units

3) Market Rate
Older B – D class properties located in high-income counties
